If You Don’t Stand for Something You Will Fall for Anything

After a 50-60 hour work week, I treat myself to a massage every Saturday. I don’t have a regular location or therapist, as I enjoy experiencing new places and people. I can say that I base my ratings on the overall experience–from the lighting to the therapist, the massage oil to the robe/slippers, every detail matters. Since the pandemic began, I started using an at-home massage company, and splurged on adding more robes to my collection. Today, I’ve decided to rank my top 5 robes:

At number 5 is the Luna Washable Silk Robe.
I will say that I generally like this robe. It’s super silky smooth, which feels great on fresh-shaved, lotioned skin. However, it definitely feels like more of a nighttime/pajama type of robe. It is short and light-weight, so I didn’t find it to be the warm and cozy style I could lounge around all day in. I’m undecided on how I feel about the cuffs being elastic, but one huge bonus is the ability to wash a silk robe from home!

Coming in at number 4 is the Mark and Graham Turkish Hydrocotton Bath Robe.
I wanted to give various materials a try, and I did. But, I’m a firm believer that a good cotton robe is a must-have. I can put this robe on straight out of the shower and not worry about dripping water all over as it is so absorbent. I decided to splurge and have my monogram personalized on the chest, which is a cute touch, but I wish I could have ordered a color other than white. Overall, it is an effective and comfy robe, but I wouldn’t consider it high-end or luxury.

At number 3 is the Coyuchi Organic Unisex Waffle Robe.
This would definitely be what I would consider the most-versatile robe in that I am comfortable using it out of the shower, to the pool, around the house, or at night before bed. The weight is just right and can we talk about THE POCKETS?!?!? I love that the pockets are upright and not on the side. it doesn’t weigh down the robe to put your phone in a pocket. I decided to be different and get the Deep Ocean color and I’m glad I did. It’s one of my prettiest robes. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the sizing. Being a unisex robe, I find it runs big and the sleeves are longer than I would like. Other than that, it is a great robe!

My runner-up is the Parachute Classic Bathrobe.
I have the stone color in this robe, and it’s probably my favorite color of all my robes. I love that it is t-length as I find that to be most comfortable and allows me to lounge around the house without revealing too much. Also noteworthy is the waist tie stays put until I untie it, so I don’t have to constantly re-tie it to feel secure. Again, POCKETS are my thing, so I really like the vertical pockets that allow me to store my phone without weighing down the robe. I find this robe to be very absorbent and able to dry me off quite well directly out of the shower or pool. This really is a top-notch robe.

My champion is the Pharaoh’s Robe.
There are only a small number of Pharaoh’s Robes released annually, making this the ultra luxury item. I felt like royalty the minute I tried mine on! I’m pretty sure it’s made of actual clouds. I could literally spend all weekend in my Pharaoh’s Robe. In addition to all the extra niceties, its functionality is second to none. The robe is not too heavy, absorbent, and super plush. I really liked the stitching and colors as it is definitely different from my other robes. The hood is light-weight and a nice added bonus. The waist tie stays in place and doesn’t inadvertently loosen on its own–which I definitely appreciate. My only regret is not knowing this robe existed sooner.
